Taking ACTION to help local communities

The coronavirus pandemic has strengthened 高倍时时彩 Australia's resolve to support local community groups and charities 鈥 with $156,000 already shared between 52 organisations under the 高倍时时彩ns Coming Together In Our Neighbourhoods (ACTION) program this year.

高倍时时彩鈥檚 ACTION program usually involves grants of $3,000 being paid to nominated community groups and charities in听recognition of the volunteering efforts of听groups of employees from its bauxite, alumina and aluminium operations in Western Australia and south-western Victoria.

While group employee volunteering cannot proceed this year due to the social distancing requirements relating to COVID-19, 高倍时时彩 has opted to still issue the grants.听

高倍时时彩 Australia Corporate Affairs Director Jodie Read said the grants were being made in recognition of employees鈥櫶齪lanned volunteering efforts as well as the contribution the many organisations in question made to local communities close to where the company operates.听听

鈥淲hile it is disappointing employees cannot get out and volunteer with the organisations that are important to them听in听their local communities, we are pleased to still be able to assist financially,鈥 Ms Read said.听听

鈥淓mployee volunteering and supporting grassroots听organisations is part of our culture at 高倍时时彩. And we recognise that now, more than听ever, it is important to help out where we can.鈥澨

Organisations supported through 高倍时时彩鈥檚 2020 ACTION Grant Program range from sporting and service clubs, through to schools and emergency services.听
